Our story
We started Viridon in 2023 because we knew there was a better way to deliver transmission projects.
Built on a solid utility foundation, our business model adds exceptional levels of customer focus, teamwork, innovation, cost discipline, and speed.
Viridon is a dynamic multi-regional electric utility that is uniquely capable of building, buying, and managing transmission assets
Our DNA
-
Viridon comes from viridis, the Latin word for green, because the grid is an essential enabler of the transition to cleaner forms of energy.
-
We want to transform transmission, bringing unmatched customer focus, teamwork, and innovation to help expand and modernize the U.S. electric grid.
-
We combine the skills and experience of transmission utility veterans, the financial resources of one of the world’s leading investors, and the customer focus, teamwork, innovation, and drive of a start-up.
What sets us apart
Experience
Our team deploys their decades of experience in developing and operating large-scale transmission projects across North America.
Partnership
We are collaborative to our core, working with utilities, regulators, and stakeholders to deliver for customers.
Agility
We are utility grade yet nimble, marked by hands-on leadership, flexibility, innovation, and speed.
Integrity
We say what we do and we do what we say, honoring commitments and staying accountable throughout the project lifecycle.
Viridon is proudly sponsored by funds affiliated with Blackstone Inc. (NYSE: BX), one of the world’s leading alternative asset managers. Blackstone’s long-term capital and infrastructure experience supports our ability to develop, finance, own and operate even the largest and most complex transmission assets.
At Viridon, we are building more than just power lines—we are building a better future.
